Grand Central Station is located on East 42nd Street, across from the Whitney Museum, in midtown Manhattan. David Pena painted this artwork from the top of the Lincoln Building, looking up Vanderbilt Avenue. This monumental mural painting, was done before the Pan Am Building became the Met Life Building. This painting also features the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Graybar Building, the Yale Club, and the Queensboro Bridge on 59th Street. One of the world's great rail terminals, the outstanding Beaux Arts Building is New York's most visited, with 500,000 people passing through it daily. Grand Central has become an attraction in its own right with 15 restaurants, over 40 shops, the NY Transit Museum and a gourmet food market. It is located on 42nd Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. |

A very festive time in the city, Grand Central Station is just teeming with shoppers during the holiday season. Grand Central is even more spectacular since it was remodeled some years ago.
Many of sightseers pass through this magnificent stone canyon on their way to Rockefeller Center to see the annual Christmas Tree as well as the Skating Rink during the winter months.
This painting features the Chemical Bank and the Merrill Lynch Commuter Express. |
