Becoming a Full-Time Painter
In 1961 I got married, published a little magazine, "Chiaroscuro," and got involved with commercial art as a boardman in publishing in order to survive. In 1968 I decided to again become a full-time painter and took a studio where I worked until 1992. During this period I eschewed the galleries and sold privately. - Roger Smith NYC
