I got my real start in painting when I was fortunate enough to study with Issac Soyer at the Art Students League.

I'm drawn to painting people just as they are, showing their character and expression.

So I found myself painting portraits.

I’ll paint flowers or a landscape if asked ... and while I enjoy the challenge -- the real challenge for me is to capture the essence of a person.
