The American Wing's late 18th-century to early 20th-century American art includes Hudson River School paintings by Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Martin Johnson Heade. The Lila Acheson Wallace Wing features 20th century art, including works by Abstract Expressionists Clyfford Still, Willem deKooning and Barnett Newman.
